This calculator can be used with electronically controlled
ergometers that delivers a specific work rate somewhat independent
of pedal rate. On these ergometers, for example, the load on
the wheel increases if the pedal rate decreases maintaining a
specific work rate. This calculator can also be used with mechanical
ergometers with known resistances at particular revolutions per
