Before purchasing and installing BSDIs software, make sure that your computer(s) meet the following requirements.
First, if you intend to purchase a network license, one computer (the "server") must be running Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista. All others must be running Windows 98 Second Edition or later.
If you will run the software on a single computer, you must be running Windows 98 SE or later.
In all cases, we recommend Windows 2000, XP, or Vista simply because they are better, more stable operating systems. Macintosh is not currently supported.
In a network configuration, the server should have at least 128 MB of RAM and at least 100 MB of free disk space. The other systems should have at least 64MB of RAM and 100 MB of free disk space. If running standalone, you should have at least 128 MB of RAM and at least 200 MB of free space. It is possible to get by with 64 MB of RAM but it is not recommended.
If you are running the BSDI Check-In software, the screen on your Check-In computer should be set for a screen resolution of 1024x768 up to 1280 x 1024 (higher resolutions do not provide an advantage typically 1024 x 768 looks best). See your Windows documentation if you do not know how to discover this setting or ask a friend it is quite common knowledge. All other systems require a screen resolution of at least 800x600 but higher resolutions are generally better.
If you will storing photos of your members either as part of the Check-In system or in the Fitness Analyst "Before-After Photography" page, then you will need to have a digital camera with a USB cable (or other attachment between camera and computer). You do not need an expensive "video capture board" and video camera to use BSDIs software. An inexpensive camera will work fine.
All BSDI software comes with 30 days of free technical support from BSDI.
