Developing Sport-Specific Strength examines why and how coaches should train their athletes in a sport-specific manner. Ken Jones, Ph.D., CSCS, is one of the most respected strength and conditioning professionals in the field. A 1978 graduate of the University of West Alabama, where he earned three letters on the gridiron as an offensive guard for the Tigers, Dr. Jones has had an extensive career as a strength/conditioning coach, as well as a position coach in football. A list of his coaching stints includes stops at Austin Peay State University and Gardner-Webb College. Currently, Dr. Jones serves as the coach of the weightlifting team and as a mathematics instructor at Springfield (TN) High School. Actively involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for much of his professional career, Dr. Jones received his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 1997.
