About the Author

Mike Bracko, Ed.D., CSCS, is an exercise physiologist who resides in Calgary, Alberta. Professionally, he is actively involved in several areas. He is the director of sports physiology for the Institute for Hockey Research for which he conducts research on both high performance skating and the performance characteristics of female ice hockey players. He also serves as the physiologist for the University of Alberta’s women’s ice hockey team and the U.S. Deaf Olympics ice hockey team. He is also actively involved as an occupational physiologist with the Occupational Performance Institute in Calgary, Canada. He also serves as the fitness editor for Impact Fitness Magazine and on the editorial board for ACSM’s Health and Fitness Journal.
