Preparation
- With bench between two high pulleys to each side, grasp left
stirrup with right hand and right stirrup with left hand. Lie
on bench with pulleys to each side of shoulders. Arms should
be crossed above upper chest with elbows slightly bent.
Execution
- Pull upper arms down to sides until elbows are shoulder height.
Maintain upper arms perpendicular to torso and fixed elbow position
(just slightly bent) as arms are pulled down to sides. Return
arms to original position and repeat.
Comments
- Upper arm should travel perpendicular to torso to minimize
latissimus dorsi
involvement. Elbows may bend slightly at top of movement (as
shown) or they may be kept fixed.
