You seem to be very motivated and have set some good targets so good luck! You've achieved a lot in the past so I think you won't have to worry at all about meeting your targets and even if you don't you won't be too far off. The intermittent fasting is good, whats the rest of your diet like?

Peter - Thanks man, good to be onboard!

Nevage - I appreciate the vote of confidence! Diet right now is fairly simple. Today, for example:

Breakfast @ 9 -
I'll usually have either a bowl of miniwheats with skim milk, or some egg whites with cheddar on whole grain toast. I'll almost always have a banana as well.

Lunch @ 12 -
Usually consists of either chicken, beef, or fish, with either a salad and some veggies. Some days, I'll have lentils with a vegetable-based dish, long with rice.

"Dinner" @ 4 / 4:30 -
I put dinner in brackets as it usually turns into more of a snack than anything else, consisting of lunch leftovers if there are any, or a fruit salad with a healthy fistful of nuts.

I'm not one to count calories (in fact, I never have), however my goal being fat-loss, I figure it's something I should take the time to sit down and figure out, instead of ballparking.

And thanks, JungleDoc! "Interesting" is pretty relative though, so ... yeah :wink:

Well Poly, you must be showing your age. Those guys date back to my era-late 60's, early 70's. FYI, Gable was a national collegiate and AAU champion several times in wrestling, and I believe he got Olympic gold. My money's on Gale.

Have only heard of Sugar Ray - never seen him fight.

Never heard of Gable though.. chose him as I liked the name. :eek:

Awesome, thanks Peter.

By the way, you mentioned I should work in some more heavy stuff into my workout. Since I'm traveling around quite a bit and am always short of equipment, what's the best way of going about doing this?

... pull a Peter, grab the heaviest stuff I can find around campus and start hauling it around? :wink:

That would work, sure. Get a heavy enough load and drag it forwards and backwards, and your legs will get a serious strength workout.

You might want to look at doing pistol box squats, if you can't do a full pistol yet.

Another option is progressing up towards feet-elevated pushups, possibly weighted. Or get your hands on some bands and do band-resisted ones.

And yeah, find heavy stuff and pick it up. Make a sandbag, find an old bucket and fill it with rocks and use it for farmer's walks, etc.

Plus, dude, you are in Austria. There must be a barbell somewhere in the home of The Oak.

That sounds like some cool training, Stephen.

As for the IF, if you're really adapted to it you can stick it out...but I'd keep food handy and no hesitate to eat if you feel hungry. That will be a big change in your total energy expenditure, and you don't want to feel run down during the training.

... back!

IF'ing during the first week was no real trouble; was able to down enough food between 7 & 3.

Second week was much harder and was forced to abandon the IF. There were a few sleepless nights where I needed some food to keep me awake. Trying to recover from those sleepless nights also forced me to eat when I could, as we didn't know if we'd be out doing missions..

In any case, now that I'm back, I can resume a 'normal' IF schedule again. I'm back to BW training again (wasn't able to do much training over the last 2 weeks), and I'm feeling great. I now have access to a lat pull down machine and a stationary pulley, so will try to work those in somehow.

Will post a new routine later today - of course, any advice/comments on it will be welcome ..

So you're IFing from 3 pm until 7 am? That's an interesting window. Most of the time I see it in reverse - IF from 9 pm until 1 pm, or 8 pm until 12 noon. You just stop eating after the middle of the afternoon then?
