Everyone who says to bulk, says to eat tons of carbs. But why? Since it mostly gets converted into fat, cant i just eat high fat instead?

Like i would rather eat, tons of meat and vegetables. than these weight gain drinks.

Do you think it would be better to eat, On a 3500 cal diet
Fat 40-50%
Protein 40%
Carbs 10-20%

If you think about it I would gain much more lean mass this way.

Since on a high carb bulking diet i would be eating 300-400g of carbs. Most of that would get converted into fat, thats around 200-300g of fat. (I think)
But as for fat, on a 3500 cal diet at 50% thats only 194g of fat, but that means 450 g of protein lol and 87g of carbs. lol Is 450g of protein too much?

When carbs get converted into fat, does that mean you need to burn 9 calories for that gram of fat to get burned?

Our ancestors were huge and they ate high fat and high protein right? So could I do the same?

The Anabolic Diet is very close to what you are talking about, high in meat and veg. The practical limit for protein is about 35%. If you limit carbs to about 10%, that puts fat% about 55%. On a diet like that, you should be able to make dramatic muscle gains without adding fat. The Anabolic Diet recommends carb loading on weekends. This chart is a little hard to read. It's 5 columns, time of week, Carb (g), Fat%, Pro%, Carb%

THE ANABOLIC DIET
Carbs % Fat % Protein % Carbs
Weekdays 30 grams 55–60 30–35 5–8
maximum
Weekends No Limit 30–40 10–15 45–60
(36–48 Hour
Carb Load)

Couldn't I just eat Low carb, high protein/fat diet everyday?

You could. That's a very reasonable approach. However, you should plan to fail at that once in a while. Set a 90% clean goal and if you fall short once in a while, you have room for improvement. It's like a failsafe against backsliding.

The reason "The Anabolic Diet" uses the weekend carb spike, is to get an anabolic boost from insulin. It's for a short period so it doesn't encourage fat retention. I'm not sure it works or if it just gives you a pump for Monday's workout. I think it's more of a psychological thing.

I've tried this diet but my discipline always falls apart when the gf wants to go out somewhere or another.
