 Post subject: My new breakfast

I think I've settled on a new favorite breakfast. Previously, my routine was generally cereal with 4g of fiber or more, but then I changed it to oatmeal with milk and raisins/blueberries.

While initially trying to increase protein/decrease carbs, I dabbled in scrambled eggs with ham+broccoli+onion+spinach/etc, but it was such a pain to clean up AND it added about 10 minutes to my morning.

Now, my breakfast is simple: a scoop of whey with milk, and I blend in either a whole banana or some blueberries or other fruit. Quicker to make, quicker to eat/drink, and easier to clean. As far as I can tell, getting less fiber in the morning is the only drawback (which is why I have the banana/blueberries in there; might try blackberries or raspberries too).

What's your breakfast of champions?

1 cup milk
1/3 cup oatmeal
1 scoop flax seed
1 teaspoon cocoa
1 banana
2 scoops protein


Makes an easy to drink 1/2 liter breakfast and sticks with me until lunch.

Either:

4 whole large eggs
2 strips of bacon/2 slices of taylor ham/some other leftover meat
leftover veggies
Black coffee
Possibly 20g of 85% cacao dark chocolate

or

Oatmeal with walnuts, blueberries, ground flax seeds, cinnamon, honey. Sometimes some yogurt, with papaya or mango chunks (frozen).
2 scoops of whey protein in water
Orange
Black coffee


The eggs are farm-raised, the bacon preservative-free, the honey from a local apiary, the veggies from the local co-op or the garden or both. The blueberries are New Jersey's finest or frozen organic. The yogurt is homemade.

If I'm trying to gain weight, I'll eat both breakfasts. I love breakfast. I go to bed thinking about what I get to make for breakfast the next day. If I'm in a rush I may drink a protein shake or drink some raw eggs, but generally...I like cooking breakfast.

Mine is close to what JPS had initially, but done in he microwave. 2-3 oz of whatever leftover meats I have floating around, chopped up, thrown in a microwavable bowl of about 3 cup capacity. I almost always have a barley or kashi pilaf/lential mix made up, so I toss in a quarter cup of that, then fill the bowl up with whatever frozen veg I have in the freezer, usually spinch, french green beans, or broccolli, or a combo or all 3, nuke it for a few minutes, pour off the water, then mix in two beaten eggs and some feta cheese, and nuke it again for a few minutes. Comes out like a crustless quiche, easy cleanup, minimal work.

Edit - this could easily be done without the lentil/grain mixture, I just like the chewey texture it gives, and they are true whole grains.

I wake up at 11 so my breakfeast is late but w/e i work from 1-9.

5 Large Whole Eggs, scrambled with green onions, sometimes some seasoning.
3 strips of bacon/turkey if I have any.
Salad with home made salad dressing.

3 cups of milk
1/2 cup+ cottage Cheese
1/4 cup+ Peanut Butter
3 scoops of Whey
1/2 cup raw oats

Sometimes coco or cinnamon to taste

and a shot of Olive oil if the scales hasn't moved in 10 days or more

Fine - I eat the olive oil by itself though, only the protein and veggie powder are mixed. (I used to mix the olive oil, which also tasted fine, but the problem was it got the blender all oily and hard to clean.)
