I am needing a (standard) RMR Formula for Excel

I used this one but its not giving me a right number

Women: RMR = (4.54 x Weight in pounds) + (2.44 x Height in inches) - (4.92 x Age) - 161

I don't know where the article got their numbers but the Harris and Benedict formula is the one most people use. It's similar to the one you're using but slightly different. MD Mifflin and ST St Jeor improved it. It can be found here: but you will have to convert it from metric. Your's may be a variation on that one.

Edit: I think I figured out the error. It is the Miffin/St Jeor formula but for the second term, they divided by cm/in when they should have multiplied. Try changing the second term to 15.88. The Wikipedia article rounded the third term to 5 from 4.92. That's not as big an error but it's why I didn't recognize it at first.
