Hey guys.
I was wondering if any of you had heard of Skyr. You see, I am from Iceland. Yes, that's where my weird name comes from if any of you had wondered(the one in the title of my log). All the big Icelandic guys, including Jón Páll, eat(or ate) a bunch of this stuff; this much I can guarantee. This is also very popular among the unknown body builders and strength athletes in Iceland.
According to the wiki page on it(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyr) it can be purchased in parts of the US and the UK, and thankfully, it's produced here in Denmark(I'm from Iceland, I live in Denmark). As the wiki says, it's basically a strained yoghurt(but in reality, a very soft cheese[citation needed]). It tastes a bit bitter, but in Iceland, it is traditionally eaten with either milk or cream with some sugar on top.
The brand I can buy is a measly 0,2% fat, 2% carbs IIRC and 11% protein. So, as you can see, it's a pretty good source of protein without any of the bad stuff.
Anywho, I just wanted to put this out there in case some of you guys wanted to check it out.
