Question about Strength / Bulk training...

Right now, I'm both strong and bulky (5'8, 175), but I want to focus on strength now. If I start doing 3-4 reps in my program, to target strength, will I end up losing bulk? Will my weight change?

Hmmm....I'm not sure, others would know alot more than i would being that ive never really lifted for bulk. But lifting for strength would be a good idea, because once you return to more of a bodybuilding routine after, all that extra strength you acquired in the strength phase can then be put to use in gaining size...since you'll be able to lift more weight than you do now.

If by bulk you mean muscle mass then probably not. You may even add muscle mass on a strength program, though probably not as quickly as you would on a hypertrophy (muscle-building) program.

Likewise, you'll likely get stronger on a hypertrophy program, but not as quickly as you would on a strength program. Mass and stregth are complementary, but not exactly the same thing.

I don't think this question can be answered without considering nutrition.

IMO, if you eat and adequate amount of calories, there is no way you will loose any muscle mass.

Just for clarification, I meant training for hypertrophy (by saying 'training for bulk')
