Today after my shoulder excercises i noticed "scratches" on my shoulders. They're not on the surface though. i've seen this in my shoulders before and was just curious what they are? im hinking broken blood vessels but i really dunno.

They sound like stretch marks

If they are, don't worry about it - they're harmless

If they are stretch marks, they will eventually fade in color. I have them all over both shoulders, front and back, and all the way around both arms.

they're not raised though, they're under the skin.

I too have those appear when I do Standing Calf Raises. Sometimes it looks as if I've spattered blood just underneath the skin. It'll sometimes follow the stitching on my shirt, create lines, or "spatter", like I mentioned. These almost always go away after about 24 hours, and the doctor basically said that it was simply superficial blood vessel breakage. I carry about 260 pounds on my shoulders when I do a calf raise, so it's understandable. Nothing to worry about if there's a reason for them to be there. Easy bruising on the otherhand can point toward an iron deficiency.

I have the same issue with calf raises. It seems to me it started happening with 3 sets just over 100 pounds. However at 300 lbs it doesn't seem to be any worse.
