She did really well with Goblet Squats. She got down to parallel with a 25lb dumbbell, and maintained good form throughtout.

"As for her losing weight, there was a good research article in the National Strength and Conditioning Journal on the most effective method when combing resistance and aerobic exercise. The results showed that performing aerobics first and then resistance exercise was more effective." Kenny Croxdale

Actually, she has been doing cardio first, since she gets to the gym before me (I meet her there). I probably should have wrote it that way.

PS.) Lately, she's been doing most of her incline presses with a barbell, which she couldn't do before, since she wasn't strong enough to use a standard Olympic barbell.

I'm having the same problem with my girlfriend and squats. I don't think she believes that what works for me, could work for her. So, she tries squats once, says they don't feel right, and then gives up.

I found this great article on squats that is written by a woman for women. Her articles are very enjoyable, and the information is very good. I'm hoping that hearing how good squatting is from a woman will make my girlfriend want to learn the movement more. So far it hasn't worked: ), but I thought I would pass the link on to see if it helps anyone else in this effort.

I think I'm going to have my wife take a break from squatting and do leg presses for a while. This is because we can't always get to the gym at the same time, and I'd rather have her do a workout she can do on her own than no workout at all.

PS.) I'm going to have her use a bench with a back support for the DB Shoulder Presses, and perform the Barbell Bent-over Rows at a 45-degree angle.

I've noticed that my wifes hamstrings are very tight, while her back is actually pretty flexible. As a result, whenever she performs Straight-leg Deadlifts (straight-back variation) her ROM is extremely short.
