 Post subject: One arm or both?

I was wondering wether you could bear more load if you use both hands instead of one (or vice cersa). I always thought that you could deliver more force with one arm then with both. Because you canfocus on one movement instead of dividing it between both.

Pushing or pulling. With a Dumbbell Row or something similar you might be able to move more weight one-arm at a time. However with dumbbell presses (flat, incline or overhead) you can definitely use more weight lifting two dumbbells at a time, since they counterballance each other.
