At some point, you're always going to peak doing a purely strength routine. You must have muscle to produce force and that low of volume isn't going to produce a whole lot of muscle unless you're eating so much that you're getting fat. :P
I disagree with that argument, but my plan was to increase volume (and switch to DB Bench for a while) if the deload does nothing, atleast for a while. My original plan was to increase the intensity to 3x3 or 5x3, but I fail to see the point. My results must still steer my program. If intensity stops working, it's seriously time to rethink my ideas and add volume.
Today was the deaload, felt good. I think I had very tight form, atleast I felt it from my toes to shoulders. No problem with the right pectoralis either. We'll see. I did 5x5 with approx. 50% 1RM.
