We are in the middle of a news story here that has been responsible for my not posting for the last couple of days. I though I would share it with you.

Here's a map of the area affected:

My house is immediately to the north east of the evacuated area .

Fire bombers are going overhead on a regular basis. The wind is blowing the fire towards the ocean and I doubt there will be more homes threatened but we still don't know. About 5000 people have been evacuated.

Thanks Doc. There have been no reports of injuries but a couple of homes were lost. There are still lots of residents that will be out of there homes again tonight but they have let some go back. There is a worry that the winds could shift and my area will be evacuated.

Were you able to stay at home last night? Hope things are getting better.

The fire is now under control. I wasn't evacuated and there is 1 road open now into the city so I made it to work on time and the kids made it to school. They are still using the highway as a helicopter landing area so it's not open yet. Evacuees were able to return to all but 50 homes last night. About 5000 people were evacuated altogether. Thanks for your concern guys.
