I was sick towards the end of a training session last night. Been a long time since that's happened!

New program (took it from "Programs that work" at elitefts). It has a lot of things in it that i wouldn't otherwise like to do, hence why i'm doing it. It's a great intro to deadlifts again for me. I prefer to lift heavy, regularly, to get my max strength up. I just enjoy it and I know it works. However, it would be stupid of me to go straight back into that. So, this program is based on mostly lighter weights, rest periods and joint angles to make it more difficult.

Work up to heavy set of 3. Pre determined weight (was 142.5KG based off 190KG max).

Then 3 x 6 with lighter weight (115kg) and max 60 seconds rest.

Then up the weight a little (125) and pull from a 3 inch deficit, 2 x 5.

Bent over rows 3 x 8

Shrugs 3 x 8

Pull ups 3 x 10

GHR's 3 x 8

I was sick after the pull ups. I think it was more because I only had an hour to warm up and do all this. If I could of got more rest, particularly with the deficit pulls, I don't think it would of happened. Deficit pulls is where I began to feel sick, so I lasted well, really.

Nice and humbling change of pace anyway!!

KPj

Hmmm....

I'm not the Random Crap boss or anything, but I'm always shocked and disappointed when I see training discussions here. My whole day will be off now.

However, it's great to see that you are getting back into DLs, Kenny.

I watched "Bigger, Faster, Stronger" today.

It was alright, the guy who presented it was a bit of a chump, and it was a bit Americana heavy, but there was some interesting points made. I thought it was particularly interesting when it said that pretty much all professional athletes use steroids.

It's certainly fuelled the fire of my 'roid curiosity

I'm on vacation, but we're not going anywhere. Ain't too many places that we are both interested in going to and can afford (saving our Kina do do stuff with our son when he comes in a few months). Anyway, it's strange to be on vacation and stay at home when you live in the same compound as your place of work, and live surrounded by your co-workers. My wife literally has gone to work 3 morning of our vacation! And I spent several hours yesterday and this morning doing work-related stuff at the computer.

It does feel good to sleep late, though, and to not have to change out of my pjs until I feel like it.

I only weigh 83kg right now, when I saw my weight on the scale I was like FUUUUUUUUUU.

But then I thought, my girl thinks I'm hot and I'm the strongest/least weak I ever was.
YEAAAAAAAHHHHH

My focus right now is getting stronger, while maintaining my relative leanness (mass gain is always wanted).

personally, the scale is what I use as my number 1 indicator of progress. Strength is a close second, but then I use a lot of things like drop sets and stuff that'll cause growth without getting too much stronger.

You're making some good progress though Wouter, good on ya

Here's a quick and dirty BF calculator. http://www.intmath.com/functions-and-gr ... arison.php
It uses hip circumference vs height.
This one uses neck and waist measurments. http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/library/b ... ulator.htm
Another version that tells you if you're fit or not: http://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator. ... y-Fat-Navy

I don't need a BF calculator.

I'm fat.

There it is.
