I think the argument has something to do with what is better for society
Notwithstandnig the legal complexities, will there be a primary wife or will they share equally in all inheritance, what about spousal coverage on health care. Perhaps it's our legal system that is behind. We need something more dynamic to support all sorts of combinations.

True it would complicate some things (inheritance, insurance, child custody, etc.). Also, the first spouse would have to consent to any additional spouses, otherwise it could be grounds for divorce.

I'm sad to say that he passed away early this year Wouter. When we noticed his absence we did a little digging and got in touch with one of his neighbours who told us.

There's a thread about it in the Announcements section.
