Also, when I go for a double-leg takedown I always try to hug my opponent legs together. This allows me to move directly to side control or full mount without getting caught in my opponents guard.

Seems like lately most wrestler-oriented MMA spends the entire stand-up portion of the match in a crouched stance. Look at Lesner/Corwin, they practically spent the whole standing match squatting.

Notes: The North-and-South Position is generally considered a variation of Side Control. Likewise, the Body Triangle is a variation of the Rear Mount, and Sprawl Control is often considered a variation of the Turtle Position.

Note: Above is my personal positional strategy and includes an element of personal preferance. It lists my primary objective(s) from each position. For example, from the Fighting Stance (Free Motion Phase) my main objective is to either close to a clinch or shoot for a takedown. I may also strike, but scoring a knockout isn't my main focus. Instead, I tend to use strikes to counter, or to set up other attacks (clinches and takedowns).

Hi dudes, I just wanted to ask you something...
Is it me or everyone is standing now?
I rarely have the oportunity to watch something like MMA and when I watched it a few years ago I hated it because they were laying down all the time and touching themselves and now when I saw some semi-finals they were just standing?! And not like in K-1! It was like I was watching boxing...
