Hi! Can anybody recommend a good book which provides one with comprehensive information on designing a split workout for building mass?

all the books I've ever seen about split routines tend to be very advanced. "Big Beyond Belief" is a good one but it's pretty hardcore. I wouldn't bother with it until you already have a few years lifting under your belt. That goes for split routines in general IMO.

Other things you could look at are:
-DC Training (REALLY advanced, you're probably not there yet)
-Mountaindog Training
-Poliquin's German Volume Training

I would go with the Mountaindog. It's good for beginners. Not really a routine as such, more just a set of principles that work really well.

If you want to design your own split it's not really that hard. Start a thread in the general section and I'll be happy to help you out.
