Hereis a link to the Precor Super Squat Machine.

My question is : Is using the machine while facing it an effective exercise for the hamstrings and glutes? I've gotten stale on my primary hamstring exercise - Romanian deadlifts - and so I've started to look for temporary alternatives.

Hi Stephen. I'm no expert on the physiology, but I do know one thing. Afew years back there were some good articles in PLUSA showing assitance moves for Deadlifts, and the then USAPL champ at 198 swore by the Icarian (the one, or very similar) to what you linked, so yes, I would presume there is a good carry over to the glutes/hams, etc.

Thanks, Tim. The machine allows me to use a ridiculous amount of weight, so I wondered if it had any real world carryover. I did get really sore in the rear chain after my first workout, so I guess that's a good sign that something is getting worked.
