|Post subject:||complex training|
i have come across the following combination of exercises specific to long jumpers;
1. Power Clean PLUS Drop Down Rebounds
2. Back Squat PLUS Jumps Up to platform
3. Step Ups PLUS Alternate Leg Drives from platform
4. Step Downs PLUS Drop Down Rebounds + Standing Long Jump
5. Step Ups PLUS Hopping up to and off a platform
6. Jump Lunge PLUS Double Footed Bounds
for the correct periodization of training for a long jumper could you please tell me which phase of training (prep, specific or competition) should i use this type of training?

I have no idea. Neither, it seems, does anyone else here. You might want to post your question here.

I would guess during power conversion phase after you have gone through a strength phase.
Most of those seem like pretty intense plyommetrics and doing them year round wouldnt give you much time to recover.
Also could probably do them during competition in the early stages and taper toward major competitions.
That's just what seems sensible.
If you dont have a problem doing some intense plyos year round, I would atleast adjust the volume.
Also, could adjust the intensity on the lifting to be lower percentage in a power producing range rather than strength producing range.
