Someone told me they 'googled' my name- and out came all my responses from this forum.

How can I stop this from happening- should I remove my 'signature'?

Perhaps more importantly, how can I remove all these posts showing up on google?

Is this why people don't leave their names on meassage boards?

Best wishes.
(I won't include my signature file)

That sounds like something for the software guy. I didn't know it worked exactly like that, but I did know that everytime you go to google something, it keeps a record of that query.Kind of the darkside of the information age, the bad that come with the good. I know there was a flap with the Govt and the Google guys some months back, about records, and personal privacy issues. I know there have been quite a few kids getting themselves in trouble on MySpace, guess they brag about doing illegal and lewd things, and perspective employers woud bust them out.

Thanks for your reply Tim. I guess it has something to do with the signature file at the end of a post.

I think I'll remove it, if it's the only way to have Google not pick it up.

By the way, I just tried to google 'TimD' and found three of your posts from exrx..

If you find out anymore, I'd sure like to know.

Thanks again.

Best wishes to you and Happy Holidays.

you can type in "www.exrx.net: scribbles" or something like that to do waht you are saying.

"Website name" then "what you want to find from that site". i dont know the exact syntax though.

and if people really cared they could just use the search function on these forums to find anything posted by you.

Bananas, I think what he wantsw is NOT to be found. I don't usually post anything I wouldn't want anybody to see, but it is scary, knowing people can just type in your name to a search engine and find out tons about you.
