People have continued to sign up and manually spam. Usually it was from China or the middle east. I had been banning IP blocks. When it was from other places I would complain to the ISP. But more and more of this keeps happening and increasingly from places where I don't want to ban their entire IP block.

So it is admin activation from now on. The security question will stop the scripts, so it should only be a couple e-mails a day. I don't mind doing them. People can just wait for me to do it.

I underestimated them. They will come back. A couple of them will post and then come back and add the links 3 days later. So I have put the site back to user confirm. Confirmation is only going to add an additional step. All I can do is monitor the posts of all new users.
