Title says it all : what does science says about which are the best abs exercises for powerlifting and avoiding injuries? Also, when should we do them? how often?

Who cares what science says? Just look at what the best powerlifters do, and copy it. There's really not much variation in how the top powerlifters train.

Sorry if it was a useless post. I thought a forum like this one would be the best place to talk about this stuff. It's often more practical for people to go on a trusted forum and see if there is a consensus rather than search on various websites and hope that they give not-too-much-contradictory info.

It's not a useless question, core training is very important and Bob posted a very good article on the subject. I think that the way you asked the question contributed to the response you got. If you want to understand the science, you will have to read what the experts do. No one "researches" this stuff with the exception of Dr. Stuart McGill, everyone else tries stuff out until they find something that works. There are several people that cross over between strength conditioning and physio therapy, and have a combination of education and practical experience. Start reading Gray Cook, Mike Boyle, Mike Robertson, Charlie Weingroff, Eric Cressey, Tony Gentilcore, etc.

How do you think anyone here would get an answer to your question that you couldn't get as easily (or with as much difficulty) ay you would? Basically, you're asking us to google things for you. I say, google it yourself. Do your own homework.

I think you can try abdominal hold, side crunch, ballet twist or climb up exercise. Bicycling exercise is also one of the best options that you can use.

You'll note that you are posting on a year-old thread? Please don't post on old threads unless you have something really new and interesting to add to the discussion. Most of the time it is better to start a new thread or just let it go.
