I dunno, Kenny. The idea of taking high doses of the pregnancy hormone just bothers me. Not necessarily rational, I know, but there it is. If I want testosterone, I'll take testosterone.

Lower doses of HCG are usually fine, but long term it might have the same effects as higher doses where it desensitizes the leydig cells to LH. Testicles and ovaries are the same tissue, they become one or the other based on the hormones in the body. So some fertility drugs are actually unisex. Clomiphene citrate for example, affects gonadal tissue, so it will cause ovulation or increase sperm production depending on what the gonadal tissue it encounters has become. HCG does that too.

I know it's natural production is just during pregnancy and it stimulates progesterone secretion. It's what they look for in pregnancy tests too. Then I guess they figured out it increases LH production, and started using it for that. I'm sure it was a fertility drug before it became a post cycle therapy drug too.

Oh yea, hcg, well that's injected the same way and also won't make it through. That hcg diet is the dumbest thing ever.

I think that any form of the "HCG diet" has been pretty well discredited.
