Another funny last name is Bader. In the 19th century young single men were called master instead of mister. Quite amusing.

My right big toe is bruised and painful. No, that's not why Hellen Keller fired her maid, just my random contribution to the conversation. I hope it doesn't affect dead lifting. Maybe it'll help me remember to keep my weight on my heels.

It's near Cambodia and Vietnam.

And there's the irony. Poor old Laos had twice the amount of ordnance of WWII dropped on it during the Vietnam War, and your average American's never heard of it.

It's an age thing. If you're old enough to actually remember the Vietnam war, to have fought in it, or to have worried about being drafted to fight it it, then you heard about it on the evening news every day for many years, and the names of all those countries are seared into your memory.

However, seems like if you'd at least been awake in school you'd have some idea where it is!

That's a very good point Doc. Although if most kids in the UK were asked the same question they'd just look blank also.

Continuing with more random crap. I had the hiccups a little earlier and was looking on wikipedia some info about them. The longest case of hiccups ever know was from 1922-1990, some poor chap suffered for 68 yrs!!!

It also mentions that a sure-fire cure is a digital rectal massage?!

So if you ever find yourself with hiccups get yourself a quiet spot, drop your draws and get rubbin'!!

On wednesday night, in the gym, the males and females changing room swapped over. It was just for one night, because work was being done in the females changing room, so, to keep things moving, they moved the males into the females room, females into the males (because it was male workers).

Anyway...

I was there till closing time. I normally train late. One of the guys in the gym, when the announcement came through...."this gym will be closing in FIFTEEN!!!!!!! minutes", the guy RAN upstairs to the female changing rooms. Then came back down with a huge grin in his face. I said, "what the hell are you up to?". He said, "i was just putting all the toilet seats up, you know, for when the changing rooms go back to normal - I'm taking revenge, for men everywhere".

HAHAHA. Classic.

Was funny when i went up after I finished and he did actually do it.

Last week at the gym I saw a little old man bench pressing. He was about 5-foot-nothing and at least 70 with white hair and a pot belly. He didn't look especially fit or muscular, but he was barrel chested with short, relatively thick arms. Anyway, he went up to 225 lbs for 2 reps. Meanwhile, the guy on the next bench was about my age (late 20s) and around 6 feet tall. He was struggling to manage a few reps at 185 lbs (spotter had help a little near the end) and looking a little embarassed.
