It isn't that big of a lawn, lol...

Hey man CONGRATS on the little one. My boy is 13, but my wife is 11 weeks right now with another little peanut.

I love babies, but given the state of my dog, he is like a child now, lol... I can't wait to not sleep one second between Jan 1 and April 15th...

Congrats again man.

that is pretty cool. having something like lifting to share is pretty sweet.

Constructive hobbies are a god send, plus she won't be pissed when you want to go to the gym after the baby comes, because she'll want to go too. You'll just take turns.

Awesome, man. I'm so happy for you.

Erick, if I could please ask, how old are you and how long have you been lifting?

I know it's a little rude to ask but I think we know each other well enough by now

haha, you can ask me anything you want man. No worries.

I'm 31.

I lifted for a little while in college, 18 months maybe. Got serious/smart about it in the summer of 08. (so when I was 28)

Stuward recommended a 3x5 to me, I read the SS wiki, perverted the $h1t out of it and there you have it.

I don't remember if you've been doing squats and deads on the same day for a long time, or if you changed to that recently. Don't you find it awfully punishing? I think I'd die.

Eh... I think I did it for a little while last summer or fall, and started doing it again a couple weeks ago.

It is, without a doubt, an "earn your man card" session :headbang: . And some times I have a hard time finishing it. But it is easier for me to recover from one day a week like that, than squats and deads split over two days during the week.

Now that I've been running a 531 type loading with deads and a linear "ball busting" loading with back squats as a finisher, I might burn out soon, but I try and keep my volume relatively low and intensity high to avoid total burn out.

new photos taken with the camera on the cot - awsome. we went walking today and noticed all the baby stuff people with babies have.
you're a step ahead in terms of training and baby equipment :)

You're a big fella.
Your shrug numbers kinda blow me away.
AS I leanr more about you and your posts, it does not shock me. You push lifts some others just do for filler.

Thanks man.

Thing is I've never had my Dead move without my shrugs moving up too.

Just load the bar up with so much you can barely move it, toss some hips and legs into it, and power the bar up and down.

Shrugs are a great way to get your body used to heavy ass loads with minimal ROM so you aren't killing yourself getting it into position.

4 x 455 is no joke, man. Kick ass. Glad to see the 5/3/1 percentages (or close enough) are working out so well for you on such a big lift. Plus it's fun to tune in and see how many reps you knocked off on your final set those days.

Thanks man.

I can't tell you how much I'm kicking myself for not looking into this when I read you first telling the Good Doctor about it months ago. Any program I can pre-fatigue for volume and still get stronger consistently is good in my book. The fact that this is withstanding my perversions, and I've been able to avoid the deload sessions is really selling me on the %'s.

I really can't speak highly enough of the basic program at this point.
