That seems like a reasonable amount. That's probably about 20g. With 20g of protein and 5g of creatine you're probably good. Some recommend more but I don't think it's needed. You could experiment with up to 40g is you want to see what happens.

I guess I mean, what are you trying to accomplish with the dextrose?

Mind you, I dont know the answer, I'm just trying to clarify the question.

I am speculating that you want to know the right amount to do good stuff (spike, glycogen replenish and what not) without too much excess for bad stuff.
I understand dextrose to be a sweetener that is better than frustose for us.
I wonder if your weight would matter, or goals.

its my way to learn. not troll.

I see how the question was probably clear to those that know more about it.

:)

Im using the dextrose for an insulin spike to help "push" the protein to be absorbed just had heard alot of conflicting opinions about it, I think weight does come into it with some people saying up to 75 grams and more...although I dont think that would b good for my belly as I already look like the pregnant man :(

I read somewhere sometime that it takes very little carb to do that. As long as you're not in a starvation state you should be OK. I'd guess that if you want to add carb, a little bit, like a teaspoonful would do.

my post workout shake has 60g of carbs in it. It's from oats, not dextrose, but I'd imagine the principle's the same

I found this study the other day:
Carbohydrate does not augment exercise-induced protein accretion versus protein alone.

I tried that but the shake became too thick almost like porridge... yuck. Yours isn't?

my shake's actually pretty nice, it's called "Reflex Instant Mass." The banana flavour is delicious, strawberry is good, and surprisingly, chocolate is horrid.

it is pretty gloopy, but I like that.

I haven't ever taken shakes regularly or supplemented. It's about time. Even if i have to chew them down.
