Considering they only cost about $10, why don't you just get a pair to try it out?

That is a great pull for your demographic, don't get it twisted. Great pull. Congrats

Really? I knew long before I pulled 5 plates whether or not I needed straps. Shoot, I knew well before I hit 405.

Not to derail, but, straps are for rowing, shrugs and rack pulls. Anything from the floor is chalk, mixed or hook grip. Most people will lose form 10 times over strapping up from the floor.

Straps are a great tool, but from the floor, they are pretty much a sin against any and all gods. :headbang:

A jerk is similar to a push press except you do a second dip to catch the bar while your arms are locking out overhead. In both push presses and jerks, you pause after cleaning. The only floor to overhead movement that doesn't have a pause is the snatch.

Putting 190lbs overhead, any which way, is an accomplishment. Congrats.

Thank you, I finally feel a bit stronger.
Do you know what be a good number to shoot for, being 90kg/200lbs.
I first want to get a bw clean and jerk (90kg) and then 100kg.
But what would make you say: "damn that's impressive?"

Wouter, 190# clean & press would crush me. There are stronger guys around and there are others that will never achieve what you've done. The important thing is to keep improving.

Here are the Men's European Junior Weightlifting Records if you want something to shoot at.

Will do! I think I'm going to add olympic lifts to my workouts.
Belgian records might be more "obtainable" in my weightclass:
112kg (245lbs) snatch
137.5kg (302lbs) clean & jerk

I've got a goal in life now. Haha

I rarely ever have a lift I'm proud enough of to post here, but...

102.5k bench!

That's 2 plates, plus two of the little baby plates. I feel like the baddest dude on earth
