Call me a idk what but I prefer to be in the gym not at home reading about the gym. I just thought that a lot of the people doing the 5/3/1/ seemed to be begginers and it SEEMED they were powerlifting?

Do they even have form down? Blah IDK I'm curious about it because I am at the best i've ever been and if i plateu here soon I may consider it an option.

I guess my best choice instead of discussing it in the forum is.....READING THE BOOK haha

John, although the author claims that 5-3-1 can be used for beginners, Starting Strength or Strong Lifts are really better tools. Likewise at the intermediate level, Madcow or WSFSB may be more suitable. 5-3-1 is really the next step after that. All of these programs have a powerlifting base but vary in the length of the micro cycle and the rate of progress. Most of the people here using 5-3-1 have already used one of the previous programs.

ps I dont use 5/3/1, in case I was confused by starting this thread.
I look to increase main lifts weight every other week.

some of those not using beginner programs have trouble keeping their knees from caving in on squats. you raise a good point.

lmfao are you referring to me? You can't fix what you don't know!! LOL I corrected my form now and now notice 95% of all people at the gym slightly collapsing in their knees before the upward motion while squatting.

What goes on via a 'Private Message' is entirely that...Private. You should learn quickly to keep it that way.

Jim Wendler only asks $20 for his ebook. I think this is cheap and reasonable. This is how he makes his living and puts dinner on his family's table.
If you dont want to pay (which is also reasonable) you could of used the link I provided and learned pretty much everything about 531 without breaking any laws.
