Ghetto Weights!!!! Wheels courtesy of my ride (pic below) which is in the middle of a full restoration! They're attached to some old drum brake hubs I no longer need, welded 3 pieces of different sized pipe into the hubs that all slot into each other! They weight approx. 30kg a piece, the wheels are Dragway 5-Spoke and have an alloy centre with 14'x8' steel rim, they need a serious polish I know! lol

That's the plan, the bar sits a bit higher then where an OLY bar sits though, so will need a little platform, got plenty of stuff layign around to make that out of though! Only other issue is thickness, but that can be worked around! They both weight 28.5kg but I have a couple of 1.5kg plates to round them out to the 30kg mark to make the math easier! lol

i really like it. Very "world's strongest man". I'd use them for cleans, push presses etc. Anything where I could throw them around, that'd be loads of fun.

Do it in the garden too so your neighbours think you're insane. It's important to keep your neighbours cowed.

Haha! I like the way you think! I train with my garage door open as it's a 5 metre wide tilting door and I have to push the car partially out of the garage to train! With them on the bar it's 67kg so I'll mostly be doing squats, deads, power cleans and bench press with them, hope I can one day overhead press them! lol Could certainly push press them though, might need to do a few in the front yard! haha Funnily enough the rack height is just a nice height for polishing them too so might have to get them nice and shiny before I show em off to the neighbours! lol

Thanks Oscar, the cage was a slight cheat as it's made from pre fab racks out of an old telephone exchange but it does the job, still need to make up some safety racks note that I'm getting into heavier weights (for me anyway!), though the addedtyres sit fairly high so they'd roll pdf me if I crumble! lol I've added a chin up bar since the last time I added photos of the cage! I'm not big on cable exercises, but my father in law who helped me bulls the cage has stuff laying around and wants to have a go at putting a cable set up on it so I've told him to go for it! Haha!

Turns out the bar sits 31cm off the ground with the "Ghetto Weights" on, the racks I was previously using had the bar at 26cm. The of cuts from the steel used to make the squat rack just happen to be 5cm thick and the pieces are 1) long enough for my stance and 2) two sitting next to each other are wide enough for my foot length! This was a quick set up as I forgot to make a platform, which I'll be making out of 3 pieces of these squat rack off cuts and some treated pine I have laying around! Father in law is making up the saw horses for me too!

Gave em a try as bumper plates today with 120kg and they worked a treat!
