I've been cleaning up my food intake. Swiss cheese got the boot as well. My omelets miss it and want it back :)

Some people seem to believe cheese is actually ok even when your goal is body composition shift (15% going to 12% or lower).

What's your take?

Nothing wrong with cheese. It's fat and protein, has some minerals and vitamins. I see no harm. In fact, I just bought cheese. It's a good choise for lower carb days in my opinion. Try it out.

It`s like eggs, it`s better for you than conventional wisdom would have you believe. Conventional wisdom would have you believe that saturated fat in the cheese is bad for you and the only good comes from the calcium. In fact, that`s just about backwards. The calcium is offset by the acidity caused by the cheese. The benefit comes from vitamin K2 (formed by fermentation) which improves the utilization of Calcium. This is true in all naturally produced hard cheeses. The protein and fat in the cheese will promote muscle building and fat burning.

Dairy is a grey area due to some potential auto-immune issues. Most of the downside comes from lactose and casein. For this reason some paleo authors recommend against all milk based products. Others give a thumbs up to cheese, butter, cream and unsweetened, full fat greek yogurt.

Assuming you don`t have dairy issues, swiss cheese should help your body comp goals. It has no carbs so you can use is in low-carb meals.

The more the better. Well for me anyway. I really like cheese. Obviously if you are trying to lose weight you don't want to be going hog wild with it, but otherwise it's not a problem. Actually if you eat things like cheese, eggs, bacon, and sausage, you will probably discover that you can't eat very much.

Thanks all!
Swiss and Parmesan are coming back to the fridge this weekend!

I never liked bacon or sausage... Even with steaks I only eat lean fillets (old-school steak lovers just barfed a bit I'm sure).

If by health he means eating real cheese (see #5).
I switched to milk that isn't pasteurized (that my parents by from some village) for six or seven months and the only thing that has changed is that I don't have any problems with breathing. Before I had to use spray every day so I could unclog my nose, and after few weeks after my switch I was free of those spays.
This confirms findings that where observed on cats that were given either normal milk or pasteurized.

Non-pasteurized milk is an even worse idea. There is no evidence that changes in your breathing have anything to do with that. There is evidence that people get sick from it though.

I only like cottage, fetta, swiss, and parmesan.
Really glad to go ahead and reintorudce them to my omelets and salads.

Would you cut out the avocado if you add cheese? I mean, olive oil, avocados, and cheese might be a bit too much fat, no?

I wouldn't worry. Those are all good or atleast alright fat sources. Plus, even if you get worried, you don't have to cut anything. Use avocado on day 1 and cheese on second. Or use both with lesser amounts. It's not like one avocado will lead you to destruction.

olive oil, avocados and cheese sounds like I delicious combination. I say fill your boots.

Don't worry about how much fat you're eating. There's good fats and bad fats, just like there's good carbs and bad carbs. If you are eating a ton of healthy fat then it's fine, just don't eat a ton of the bad stuff.

Well, if you are involved in heavy gym workouts cheese will be fine for you. Because its calories will be used for workouts and protein will be used for muscle strength. But if you are a weight losing candidate and want to lose weight quickly avoid cheese and use fresh vegetables and fruits.
