you'd think this post would be here already, or am I the only one obsessed with lists

Rules:
no composite foods (sorry, no lasagna, no pizza, no fittata)
unlimited seasoning, herbs, spices, condiments (hot sauce, vinegar)
unlimited fresh water
no limitations in cooking methods, pans, or utensils, or appliances
processed foods like macaroni are allowed (hopefully we can see agree on the line between allowed processed foods vs the banned composite dishes)
you will be alone, with internet access and a pc/ipad. But for these 10 years, no one wants to come and get you, Sorry.
there are lots weights, kettle bells, duffles bags of sand, tires, ropes, and rocks to climb.
no savages or animals to eat
no access to fish, no land that will produce crops.
All you eat comes from your list
No spoilage, presume drop offs every 3 days, of the same food
Pretend you can cook as good as your mamma, or me
No escape - or you can pretend that escape is possible if you were to swim X miles, or chop enough wood to make a raft, and use that knowledge to shape a diet acccordingly.

You will be able to have an unlimted supply of a limited list of foods stuffs. Make the list keeping in mind your health and your tastes buds

I think it might be fun to crtique the lists, and see the variety and ideas we get

Rules for food
12 foods
3 beverages (+ water)
2 fats (yes, you can take Bacon as a food, and use the fat later)

My list:

Eggs
Bacon
Mackerel
Beef tongue
yams
onions
tomatoes
kale
Avacados
blueberries
yogurt
pistachios

milk
red wine
Apple juice

butter
olive oil

pretty much from top of head, may vary if I wrote it tomorrow, etc.
your turn.

OK. Ya got me.

Foods
1 Eggs
2 Beef (big pieces--I'll slice them up as steaks or grind them into mince, or roast them whole)
3 Chicken (whole chicken--on a desert island I have plenty of time to cut them up when I want breast or dark meat)
4 Peanut butter
5 Onions
6 Tomatoes
7 Ice Cream (vanilla, any decent brand)
8 Cheese (cheddar,Tillamook medium)
9 Bread dough, whole grain
10 Pineapple (from PNG only)
11 Bananas (from PNG only)
12 Strawberries (from Washington)

Beverages
Coffee, dark roast (i.e. French, Italian, Espresso)
Coffee, medium roast, not varietal particularly
Coffee, dark roast decaffeinated (I'd still want to get to sleep at night)

Fats
Butter
Olive Oil

I'd wish for more kinds of fruit, especially apples from Central Washington. Cots and peaches from the same area would be good too. Of the fruit on my list, I guess I'd give up the pineapples first, although some of the pineapple here is better than any candy I've eaten. I'd use any of the fruits to make spreads to go with the peanut butter on my bread, or toppings (occasionally) on the ice cream, or even juice for a little beverage variety, though with 3 kinds of coffee (in addition to water!) I can't imagine wanting any more variety!

Bread dough can be shaped and baked in a variety of ways--traditional loaves, French loaves, pizza crust (and with tomatoes and meat and all those seasonings I can make a pretty good pizza), hamburger buns, rolls, even cinnamon rolls (using cinnamon and brown sugar from the seasonings and condiments supply). I could probably approximate a tortilla pretty well.

There is garlic in the seasonings. It doesn't need to take up a slot on your list!

Tentatively going with RobertScott's list. May have to replace mince-meat with solid beef, since I can have any cooking utensil, so I could grind it up if I felt like it.

I do. Alone, with people, whatever. Anytime is a good for a drink (well except for at work or while driving). Of course I'm never really alone, as I have 3 cats here. Plus my wife will be home eventually.

It's when the TV starts arguing back that it gets weird.

I'll swap the Olive Oil for Coconut Oil. After all, aside from drizziling it over tomatoes, what good is Olive Oil when I already have butter. Everyone who participated also said Olive Oil.

Where's the fish? or Organ meat ?

Doc,
Bread. It would be tough to make it without it. I'd try to use the opportunity to ween off it; but I appreciated your thought process

I've reduced my bread intake over the last few years, but I find it very difficult to get along without it.
