Hahaha now I sound very stupid, probably because I am when it comes to food.

I'm finding it hard to believe all those articles about bread when it is a main part of most peoples diets?! I'm removing bread from my diet, leaving me to get my carbs from wholemeal pasta, potato's and brown rice, is this good?

My veg intake is pretty good, I buy frozen so it lasts for longer, I've got bags of mixed peppers, onion, sweetcorn, peas and carrots. O and I have mushrooms and lettuce, not frozen though.

So bread and baked beans are processed food, this I did not realise. I'm guessing the tinned soup I buy is also? I'm guessing anything in a tin is processed? Such as chilli con carne which I get from a tin? I'm also guessing tortilla wraps are processed?

A just wanna say by the way, it seems the knowledge on this forum is in abundance, and I thank you all for educating me.

it's refreshing to see someone own up to such an abundance of igonorance.

fwiw, I think Taco Bell uses the unprocessed Tortilla wraps...

It seems I'm gonna be changing my shopping habits then.....

I need some ideas for tasty, unprocessed, easy-ish to prepare food, and price is an issue (being a student and what not!).

My shopping list is at the moment;
potatoes, brown rice, wholemeal pasta
chicken, fish, tuna
peppers, sweetcorn, onions, peas, carrots, mushrooms, lettuce

Cutting out bread and wraps leaves me struggling for lunch ideas, I can only think of tuna pasta salad.

you're really going to struggle once you learn that pasta is basically just bread...

eggs, hamburger, liver, whole chicken
shop at discount stores
buy cheaper fattier cuts
be dligent looking for special and buy in bulk
a slow cooker can be a great tool

the diet is the hard part imo.
But once you settle into it, I bet its pretty easy (I'll let you know when I do)

keep eating the veggies

Peanut butter with bananas. No particular reason, I just like it and its cheap.

Right, so pasta is basically bread, which is the lesser evil out of the two?

Yeah banana's are one the list, greek yogurt and muesli, porridge and honey, there my two breakfasts at the moment. Eggs are also on there.
