John Scott is owner of Scott Fitness in Kansas City, Missouri. He put up with us for months, watching us shoot hundreds of videos at his three facilities, schlep around lights and video equipment, string cords about the floor, rearrange equipment, invite in strange model types, and curse members (with my fist in the air) appearing in the background as we tried to film.
Tom Cross, CSCS, USAW Sr. Coach
We thank Coach Cross for his guidance, advice, and assistance when filming many of the Olympic-style lifts. In 1994, Coach Cross was named Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year at University of Tulsa. In 2008, he was inducted into the National Strength and Conditioning Coaches Hall of Fame. He has since retired as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, United States Weightlifting Federation, and American Football Coaches Association.
Darrel is the Fitness Center Coordinator for Penn Valley Physical Education. We appreciate him allowing us to video in the Penn Valley Fitness Center.
Neal Huston is the General Manager at Prairie Life Center in Olathe and Overland Park, Kansas. Neal allowed us to video exercises on several harder to find pieces of equipment.
Janet Schmidt & Jeff Sygman
Janet Schmit (Director) and Jeff Sygman (Fitness Specialist and Program Coordinator) permitted us to video many exercises at the University of Kansas Medical Center Kirmayer Fitness Center.
Michael Schumann was the Center Executive at the Olathe Family YMCA. He was generous enough to allow us to capture dozens of exercises at the Olathe YMCA, and asked nothing in return.
Bruce Laird & Donna Baker
Bruce Laird (Owner) and Donna Baker (Manager) allowed us to video a few exercises at Ottawa Nautilus in Ottawa, Kansas.
Katharine Grunewald, Ph.D., R.D., FACN
Dr. Grunewald is a Professor of Foods & Nutrition at Kansas State University and has published numerous studies in sports nutrition. Kathy was my greatest mentor throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies at KSU.
