Coach Louie Simmons

Louie Simmons is a world renown strength coach, powerlifter, and owner of a private powerlifting gym in Columbus Ohio. He devoloped the world-famous Westside Barbell Program and has invented several pieces of strenght training equipment including the Lever Reverse Hyper-extension Machine. Louie is one of only 5 lifters to total Elite in 5 different powerlifting weight classes. He is one of two lifters over 50 years of age to squat 920 pounds, bench 600 pounds, dead lift 722 pounds; and total 2100 pounds.

If there is any one that could inspire a change to the way you train for strength and power, Coach Simmons would be that man. The results of his coaching and training techniques speak for themselves.

Westside Barbell has broken over 100 World Records, holds three of the top 5 totals. Westside has the greatest male and female lifters in the world, Dave Hoff and Laura Phelps Sweatt, and a 700-pound raw bencher, Nick Winters. Over 20 members of the Westside team have deadlifted 800 pounds.

Louie coaches world champion powerlifters, two Olympic gold sprinters, MMA fighter Matt Brown, rugby teams, and 2 NFL Football teams.
