Broom Stick Subscapularis Stretch

Instructions

Preparation

Grasp end of pole with one hand. Flip pole over upper arm. Position bent arm to side of body with other end of pole behind arm. Reach across body as far as possible with opposite arm and grasp lower end of pole. Position elbow at height of shoulder with pole positioned on back side of upper arm. 

Execution

Pull lower end of pole forward and upward so shoulder is externally rotated. Hold stretch. Repeat with opposite arm.

Comments

Before pulling pole forward and upward, attempt to orientate pole as vertical as possible and elbow of upper arm as close to lateral of shoulder as possible.
