Looks like evfery thing is covered, pyramids can be very effective, and good choice on exercises. As you get stronger, you might want to think about using a semi stiff leg DL on squat day, and a lunge or front squat on Deadlift day for the lower, but for now, looks good. Tim You mean start alternat...

Please critique my upper/lower workout

I've been doing the following 2-day split workout for the last few weeks and would like some feedback on it. My main workout goal is hypertrophy. This is the schedule: Upper, off, Lower, off, and so on Upper Bench Press - 3 sets pyramid-style (+ light warmup set) Cable Row - 3 sets pyramid (+ light ...

Those are all good ideas. I hadn't even considered something like IM's last idea, w/ the FB on Monday and a split Thurs/Fri. Thanks!

Need Comments on Ideas for Routine

For quite a while I've been doing an Upper/Lower split based on the exrx template. I've been trying the "low volume" approach where I just do one warmup set and one workout set for each exercise, which allows me to do a large variety of exercises in relatively short time. Lately, however, I've been ...

Correcting muscle asymmetry

Ever since I started weight training, I've been more conscious of different muscle asymmetries which seem to, for the most part, have persisted through more than a year of training. The main issue is that I notice is that my right upper arm (both biceps and triceps) is bigger than my left. On the ot...

"No idea" pretty much applies to me. I imagine it involves splitting up pull exercises into pull/chin-ups and the like on the one hand and horizontal rows and what not on the other, and same thing for push exercises. Is this basically what you're doing? I'd be interested in knowing more about this r...

P.S.

I forgot to mention I've been doing 3 sets per exercise, generally 10/8/6 reps with increasing weight.

Pull/Push/Legs - 5 days too much?

I started lifting about 14 months ago and usually did weight training on three days and cardio on five. Several months ago I adopted a 5-day split, since I was at the gym five days a week anyway. Currently I have dedicated days as follows: 1. Chest 2. Legs 3. Shoulders 4. Back 5. Arms However, based...
