This is not new science - here's a study from 2006 which at least touches on it anyway: http://www.ars.usda.gov/research/publications/publications.htm?seq_no_115=198125. I think first read about it in "Discover" I believe a few years ago, but I can't find that original article is online. I found htt...

Most meat substitutes are very high carb and what fat they have is often soybean oil, with several being hydrogenated as I recall.

My best theory at the moment is that sleepy / mentally drained days are days where I've not been burning adrenaline, so I get in the gym and can pump it out. Not sure if there's any biological basis to this in the functioning of the adrenal gland. :-)

Shrug, yes that's the Libertarian party's fluffy stance. However, the Libertarian party has only about as much control over the adjective libertarian as the Green party has over the adjective green, or the Democratic party has over "democratic."

Hehe I saw that a while back, was applauding until I learned that sadly it's a fake: http://www.theatlanticwire.com/opinions/view/opinion/Nikes-Big-Butt-Campaign-4572 - although bizarrely it uses text from an almost identical Nike campaign from 2005. I suspect somewhere around less than 15% body fat...

I also found step-ups rather awkward, especially as the weight went up. Lately I've been doing some high rep squats (since I lack a power rack I only feel safe squatting what I can press), but I like these:

Har dee har. Well, you said "You can cause bacteria to evolve by changing their environment, but the genes can't just get into them. That's absurd." My only point is that you're scientifically wrong about that. Bacteria can and do absorb and incorporate exogenous genetic material. So, moving on past...

Yes, I understand that *you* think it's a definitionally inherent litmus test of libertarianism, but I suspect the vast majority of libertarians would not agree with that definition.

I eat a pound of vegetables almost every night, 80% of the time broccoli. Occasionally I'll eat slightly less than a pound if you don't count ~6-8oz of raw tomato since that's really fruit. And once every 6 days I'll do a high-carb meal with ~1lb potato/sweet potato, 1lb green peas, 1/2 lb meat. Las...

That low volume and singles sounds brutal for recovery - if I did that for more than a few weeks I suspect I'd be the walking wounded.

I dunno, but after I stuff down a pound of broccoli and 1/2 pound of meat, I'm usually not thinking "ooo I could go for some dessert", its more like "ooo my stomach hurts."

Sure, lots of people don't want to recognize rights of the unborn. The unusual thing was saying that that was the only acceptable libertarian position.

I've been taking one nightly for a while (one cheap bottle has like 240 pills or something) - never noticed any difference, so I guess I was probably getting enough zinc/magnesium elsewhere already.
