Can't get enough of Soy

Yeah, Soy milk is a great alternative. I just feel bad that I did not discover Soy milk earlier. Almost same amount of calories as lowfat milk but creamier and tastier. Also doesn't go bad soon.

Cardio (Running) and Bulk up at the same time?

I have read on this website that cardio may nullify muscle gain. I do weights 3 times a week and alternate that with cardio (running 8.2 to 8.6 m/h for 30-40 mins) on other days with 1 or 2 days rest per week. The reason I am asking coz I feel that I have plateaued w.r.t muscle mass as well as the w...

Great and Tasty Protein Sources

I apologize if this is a repeat question. However, I could not find the info I was looking. Perhaps someone can direct me to the appropriate link. I would like to incorporate as much variety in my meals as possible and at the same time maintain 120-150gm protein intake daily (150lbs, 5' 8", regular ...

Alternatives for vegetarian diet

Kunal, I am a novice myself when it comes to muscle building; however, I have been seeing good results from the time I started i.e 5 months back. Nevertheless, I am throwing in my 2 cents. Your diet seems to be entirely vegetarian. So, I guess you do not eat meat, seafood or poultry with the excepti...

paleo diet

Thanks for the Paleo diet suggestion, Stuward. I read up on it and the concept sounds good. However, I would make only those necessary lifestyle and diet changes that I can maintain forever. My approach to this is - balanced diet + optimum exercise = great and healthy lifestyle. Even now, I eat dair...

Under stuward's stewardship

Almost forgot to thank stuward for his excellent suggestions of rotating the bench backwards for preacher curls and including wild salmon in diet. Both have worked great so far.

This forum rocks!!

Update

Hi guys, PROGRESS: Here's the progress so far based on great inputs from this forum and ofcourse my adopting a healthy lifestyle. I had dropped down to 144lbs a couple of weeks back. That translates into a 40lbs weight loss in 4+ months. Now I am 150lbs; however I feel this latter gain is purely mus...

Progress

Making steady progress so far. Broke through 160 lbs barrier for the first time. Neways, I don't care about the weight anymore. I can definitely feel the fat burning away around the lower chest /abs and the muscle starting to take some definition esp in the upper body. I am used to running a lot so ...

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. This is indeed helpful. Firstly, to answer a few queries, my gym days (3 times a week) routine so far has been as follows: Start with Barbell Squats (4 sets x 25 reps). Alternate with Cambered Bar Lying Row (4 x 15-20). Then alternate between Ab exercises (2 x l...

Whey doesn't it work?

Thanks for the responses. Will definitely get the green tea brewing. Almost forgot about it. Used to sip quite a bit not a long time back. That should also take care of the hydration too. I think I switched over from green tea to sipping cold water after reading about the benefits of cold water usin...

Is my (Exercise + Diet) = Healthy Lifestyle? Need advice

I am 31 yrs old, 5'8" and present weight is around 164lbs. I have dropped about 20 pounds in last 3 months alternating b/w regular exercise (free weights in gym) and running 4-5 miles 5-6 days/week i.e gym one day and run the next day. Most of the change has been in the last month when I also starte...
