My problem is with all this stupid new age anti-drug bull$hit that is going on now. Since when did hippies become Christian Scientists? Chill mate, nobody is against drugs (and as far as I remember Hippies are quite fond of the green stuff ;) ) I think for the most part, the point of controversy fo...

But I guess I'm asking did u wait the entire time to just go and hit up something else and then go back? Well, I did light step-ups to pass the time. But I usually go directly from a short stroll in the treadmill to the squats. I got used to workout the big muscle group first, legs are always my fi...

Jungledoc: This is exactly the point I wanted to convey. There is people there -doctors- who are the only ones that should be prescribing after diagnostic, either medicine (drugs) or enhancers (supplements). What I think is that when one self-medicates one has the risk of taking the wrong dosage, to...

Re: Random Rant...

Today at the gym, I got angry at somebody, for the first time ever...but this is absurd. A couple of youngsters were doing bicep curls ON THE SQUAT RACK, with the barbell. The lazy bas***** did not even had the nerve to pick up the barbell from the floor, they used the rack! I had to wait until the...

In my personal opinion, unless you are a competitive professional athlete, you should avoid taking supplements (well, whey is not exactly in that category). Not to mention be careful with self medication. Most of the time supplements are quite hard on the liver and they are not regulated as strongly...

Well, let's be clear... this guys were doing about 65lb curls, I do not think you need a rack for that. That was what got me. To be fair, I am usually the only one in the squat rack (except for a tiny, tiny guy that squats twice as much as me, by the way... go figure) so I got surprised somebody els...

Thanks for the info, it did seem like a Vastus Medialis weakness. As a matter of fact the pain has almost totally vanish, since I started squatting again! I'll stick to the low weight for a while... By the way, how long does it usually take to get back to your 1rm after a long period of inactivity? ...

Squats, good for your knees?

So, I have been away from lifting for a while I had to move to Massachusetts and I had to let my weights go. At some point, two weeks ago I started to have a little bit of pain in my right knee, mostly when I locked it or on the stairs. I think it started one day when I had to sprint in a traffic li...

Treadmill and equipment donation

This question is totally out of place, so excuse me in advance. Has anybody any idea how to donate a treadmill, bench, exercise equipment in New York State? One of my friends has a midrange treadmill (2.5 hp) and some benches that he has used for a couple of years. He is moving and he cannot take th...

Nothing... If you need to spend money for a good workout machine, buy a power rack, a bench and an olympic set with 300lb for starters, add weight as you go. A set of powerblocks would come handy, but if you really have Benjamin's to burn add a nice set of hex dumbells, now that's the dog's bollocks...
