Re: Smart Fitness University

OK, sorry all around. Since you ask, I train in a tin shack in the jungle. I train with occasional on-line coaching from someone who has no formal certification, he just knows tons about strength. Other than that, I'm my trainer. I have some certifications, but none that you would recognize! :) No ...

Re: Smart Fitness University

I couldn't find them on the better business bureau website. I looked at the CPT eligibility requirements. They are as follows: Be 18 years of age Be certified in CPR and... Wait. That was it. Those were the requirements to start your CPT. I don't know of any other certs that require anything more t...

Re: Smart Fitness University

Thing is, you say that you're the fitness director of a chain of clubs, but you have to ask a bunch of chumps like us these questions. That leaves us feeling like you aren't what you say you are. Shouldn't you be able to conclude this for yourself with fairly minimal effort? What organization are y...

Smart Fitness University

Hey fellow fitness Professionals, I had a quick question. I'm a fitness director at a small chain of clubs in upstate New York and I was contacted by our old NASM rep. She now works for Smart Fitness University Online http://www.smartfitnesscenter.com How it was presented to me was that it is a NCCA...

Re: Alkaline Water

All you need is to make sure your water is as pure as possible. Make sure there are no harmful petroleum derivatives, bacteria, organics or chemicals. A big one that people don't think about is most town and city water supplies have chlorine, chloramine, and other harmful chemicals added to "disinfe...

Re: Intermittent Fasting

Serving sizes have become absolutely absurd and our hunger levels adapt right too it. If you have some time, I watched this video from University of California a few months ago, http://uctv.tv/search-details.aspx?showID=16717" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They talk about not only h...

Re: Intermittent Fasting

I've done it for a few months and have a mixed opinion of it. -initial weight loss was awesome, went down two notches on my belt pretty much overnight, all the while getting heavier so I was happy as hell about that. However, this plateaued pretty quickly and I have not gotten any leaner (although ...

Re: Intermittent Fasting

"nutrient dense" is a red herring, all healthy styles of eating are nutrient dense so you can keep that out of it. It's not the opposite of IF. Although widely repeated, there is no proof that there is any advantage to small frequent meals if you're trying to reduce calories. In fact, most people e...

Running Related Tibialis Issues

Here is the basic issue. Approximately two weeks ago I was doing a quick 5k jog/run (about 8 min/mi) on a combination of road and grass. With about a mile to go, the tibialis anterior started burning in both legs almost at the same time. I assumed that they were just a product of running head into t...

I've been taking G&C daily for almost a year now and I've noticed a distinct lowering of the pain in my knees and shoulder. I've been actively playing sports, both competitively and recreationally for the last 15 years and my joints have taken quite a beating but this definitely helps.
