Hey KPj, thanks for the reply. I'm currently following this program http://www.exrx.net/Workouts/Workout3PPL.html and on push i use DB presses (Incline/Decline) and a fly (slight incline) and a DB front raise for anterior delts. I did see that article on the shoulder blades, i think although not as ...

Supraspinatus Injury (Doing DB front raise)

Hi, I think i have this injury: http://www.exrx.net/Kinesiology/Weaknesses.html I hurt myself doing DB front raises and lifted too heavy on my left side. Now i've got constant pain - feels like it's on the inside(like looking out from inside my rib cage) of my upper shoulder blade. It hurts when i p...

Thanks for the reply.

I have currently been having a oat/whey/water shake at about 14:30 and i workout at 17:30 for 1 hour.

Would you say having this shake pre workout is a bad idea?

I don't know how much attention this post will get because the thread's pretty much been covered, but i have a new question. So far i know eating high carb meals PWO (within 2 hours of training) is good to create an insulin spike because the body tends to become very anabolic, taking up all those ca...

Yeh i think it's definately going to get more organised, i only realised last night how big the portions. So that will be good, not being cooking constantly! I do have the bernard and mathews turkey ham here, but it apears to be chopped and reformed Turkey (i think it's something like 65% turkey) wh...

cha1n - if your hopeless and unimaginative in the k-word like I was, then you should consider buying Berardi's "Gourmet Nutrition" book. It has loads of very tasty recipes with instructions that are very easy to follow, and also some great cooking tips and nutrition information. Obviously each meal...

Ok, so you can mix it up, but keep it below 10g carbs?

Ok thanks Tim, i'll get on whfoods and compile some lists of fibrous, non-starchy veg.

Thanks for your help everyone. It's not the busiest forum i've been on, but the quality of information exceeds the others i've visited.

Thanks for clearing that up, chris & stuward.

So chances are you'd only eat one specific type of low carb veg with each meal.

I'm going to have to make some soups as i have an issue with the texture of vegetables.

Thanks guys.

Protein & Fat Meals (John Bernardi article query)

Hi, so i've been reading alot of John Bernardi's articles after seeing many links to them on this forum and i have some questions. John states that the two meal combinations should always be: - Protein with fat (< 10g Carbs) - Protein with carbohydrates (< 5g fat). So i look at some of his Protein/F...

You need more variety in meats, a little more protein and some fats. You need to have some protein/fat meals in there, you have all protein/carb meals. If you get all that taken care of, the biggest problem (not enough calories), will pretty much fix itself. You have to eat quite a lot to grow. I h...

I'm trying my best to get over this.. yesterday i ate an orange, apple and banana! I'll try my best to work these other aspects of the diet in!...

I am trying to gain weight.

Does that mean that I shouldn't try and obtain the majority of my carbs from fruit/veg?
