I don't know anyone who has gotten big quads by doing leg ext either, but if you want to specifically target your quads, leg ext would be an option, wouldn't it. I will give sissy squat a try, thank you for your input.

The reason for working quads in isolation is to bring them out little more, since they are my weak point.

Leg Extension substitute

I am looking for a movement that will replace leg extansion machine. I understand there are number of exercises that target muscles seated leg ext does, but what is the closest one to leg ext. Preferably iso movements.

Any ideas?
