I'm gonna assume you are going to be competing in a Powerlifting meet, given that you mention improving your bench technique? If so well done for deciding to enter your first meet, I did my first around march last year, so cannot offer the wealth of advice that some of the other guys and girls here ...

This is a great discussion so far and I decided to throw in my opinion for what it's worth. Making Anabolic steroids legal is a double edged sword, I think that the overwhelming majority of steroid users are recreational gym goers as opposed to athletes, and i personally know of around a half dozen ...

Re: your grip issue, i'm guessing there's lots of old threads on the subject but the thing i found that helped me the most was barbell holds. set up in a power rack or on blocks if you can so that the bar is maybe 5 or six inches below lockout and load it up, then partial deadlift it to lockout and ...

I was never a fan of the pre workout supps either. I found i had no issues training in a fasted state as Stu mentioned but i recently came across an old article of John Berardi's and will be giving one of his suggestions a try. Basically 0.8 grams per kilo of bodyweight carbs and 0.4 grams per kg bo...

Thanks doc, Been lifting about two and a half years, lifting properly for about 18 months. I'm 30 in a couple weeks and had it in my head to pull 400 before then. First time i deadlifted i was struggling for 175. Also looking at your log you are going about it a lot more intelligently than i did, so...

Jebus, I had this exact same thing happen to me today doing deadlifts, Funny thing is, when i 'came to' the first thing i thought of was this thread!! Belt was probably a notch too tight and held my breath a little too long and bam! 3-4 seconds of squatting over the bar wobbling backwards and forwar...

I had a look around at some crossfit videos and as far as i can see, these are a pushup where in the bottom position you allow your torso to rest on the ground, lift your hands a small amount from the ground, then place hands back on the ground and pushup again to the top position. http://www.youtub...

I have ma huang and continue to use it occasionally, though not as often as I used to or want to. I'd like to recommend ma haung to some of the women at the gym, but my wife doesn't seem to like the idea of me sharing ma huang with anyone. Actually, I don't think she is too keen on me using ma huan...
