Re: Get rid of belly
Stevia can be a good replacement if you have to, but I agree with Stu about eliminating it. You will find it doesn't even appeal to you after a while. If you do get Stevia, make sure it isn't bulked out with Maltodextrin or anything. I have some pure Stevia drops at home, I forgot the brand (don't u...

I only take them if I train fasted but saying that, I just have Whey Isolate currently.

Re: Strength Standards
I'll wait til I get home tonight and check the old training books and how things progressed.
This is all the motivation anyone needs:

Re: Sympathy Recomp 2013
Only because of how easy Whey Isolate is to drink. I had a bit of fish, veg, bacon and cheese for dinner/breakfast last night (fasted all day). Portions were like 1/3 of my usual feast size but the food tasted so nice, but still I didn't feel hungry! I followed it up with 100g Whey Isolate so 90g of...

Re: Strength Standards
It's only my low bodyweight that's keeping me in the advanced for a couple. My bones must weigh nothing, no one believes me when I say how much I weigh. About 77kg at the moment but I'll be 75kg by the end of this no carb week easily, with no strength being affected. I'm well happy my girlfriend's S...

Re: Strength Standards
Hmmm interesting. I didn't take the pause into consideration on Bench Press either which would make it a lot harder. I think my leverages are odd. My Deadlift isn't too far off a squat, a lot of lower body involvement. I think I have long legs, a short torso and quite short arms. Sumo works the best...

Strength Standards
How come the deadlift strength standards are so much higher than squats? I find deadlifts so much harder! I've finally got it equal to my squat and now I see that it's miles off in the exrx strength standards table whereas my squat is advanced. Also, bench press looks a lot easier to hit. I'm inclin...

Re: Sympathy Recomp 2013
Cheers! Tried kneeling cable crunches last night and it was a massive fail. My cable is really stiff so at the top it felt like I had to pull it down with my arms a bit. I could't really isolate my abs either. I'll try it tonight sitting on a bench to see if that makes a difference and also standing.

Re: Sympathy Recomp 2013
Ok gonna add 1 ab exercise to the end of each workout and treat it like any other muscle. i.e increase weight. There's like 1343324231412 to pick from though. I'll do some cable crunches today but any other recommendations robert 'washboard' scott?

Re: Sympathy Recomp 2013
I was gonna start a new thread but thought I might as well add it here... What are people's thoughts on direct ab training? I've never done it. My abs often hurt from chins, deadlifts etc. But because I've never done it, I'm sort of up for trying it out over the next 6 weeks to see if I notice anyth...

Re: Sports Supplement Linked to Cardiac Issues, Death
Recently got banned in the UK. Don't know any details about the deaths or dosages used etc. though. The main reason it was banned was due to a woman dying recently after a marathon and it was though to be the DMAA in Jack3d that was linked to it. Marathons in general put a lot of pressure on your he...

Re: Random crap
Does anyone else push the bar up on a heavy squat? When coming out the hole on a heavy squat, I remember I sometimes pulled down on the bar by accident to sort of tighten up and push. I stopped this once I noticed because it's making more work for me. Lately I've changed to pushing the bar when I'm ...

Re: What is a Smith Machine good for?
I like them for close grip bench press to isolate the triceps. Easy to go to failure. Haven't used one in years though.

Re: Random crap
We could get technical on this and get Ironman to check IPs, that would be interesting to see the stats.
