I believe in the machine fly where you have your elbows against a pad and let the pec stretch and doing higher reps after lets say dbell press. chest is my strongest bodypart and while im not a fan of machines i have to say that this particular machine is really phenomenal for muscle building. (Of c...
I recently fell in love with front squats they target the thoracic extensors and at the same time "should" hit my quads pretty well. The problem i have is keeping my back straight . it seems that although my posture looks correct from elbow and neck position my back is still rounded. I am not sure i...
Why low bar on the squats for the v.i.? i have no explanation. when i try to sit back and dont lock out at the top (keep Time under Tension) its for me one of the best movements to feel the outside of the quad. Thanks for the link. I already tried close stance squatting, they just go straight into ...
hard to find a unilateral exercise specific for the quad sweep. I made the experience that the vastus lateralis responds (if) only to bilateral exercises like low bar squats and legpresses. A friend of me told me once that side lunges target this area well. I have tried them but they are a weird exe...
There are some reasons coming to my mind: he said he doesnt benchpress, but maybe he is doing other exercises for his chest, just to balance things out. When you mention russians as far as i know they follow more of a "get-strong-all-around" mentality meaning that they try to get strong at more move...
I have to admit I do not understand at all how we strengthen our rear delts. I know the exercises to do, I just don't get how it works. My experience with the main compound lifts may actually be getting in my way. For those you have a sustained program of varying intensity and volume and you can me...

So I've been reading a little about low rep vs high rep training and found some contradicting opinions on that. Appearently high reps (if performed until failure, can stimulate muscle as much as low reps (with more weight). Does that mean that higher reps could be as effective or at least close to ...
i dont think slow twitch muscle fibres can be hypertrophied. endurance atheltes are not huge. and even if , i think the normal rep range would target them well. i also have never seen a single study which proves it.
ofc you can do that. if "basic functional strength" is your main goal bodyweight exercises are as great as weightlifting(EXCEPT FOR YOur lower body. as soon as you can do glutehamraises and pistol squats there is nothing more challenging. ) you can also do bodyweight stuff for strength. gymnasts/bar...
So for the sake of correctness, knowledge, and intelligently communicating with others, I would like to know what it is. do you often find yourself communicating to others whether medial delt exercises are push or pull? There is no medial head, there is lateral. the terms are not synonyms You have ...
I think stretching is not important when you aim for size/strength increases. As far as i know you use dynamic stretching prior to working out and static afterwards when muscle is full of blood and pumped. Best is you find out and see if it does anything ;)
When i tried to lift fasted in the morning i was so much weaker and i was very hungry as soon as i trained for about 10 minutes. i recommend you to eat something light before training. maybe a shake, liquids dont make me very full personally.
