Re: sweat pants pockets

That's only because you wear bikini briefs when you work out. :headbang: And why not though. It is your own house. hehe I actually prefer to work out spartan style. But the trip to the gym became problematic, and then my neighbors started to complain about my backyard workouts. It probably true tha...

sweat pants pockets

This is a quick rant post about something that irritates me. Why can't makers of athletic clothing include real pockets? Not little decorative ones, but real ones. Pockets that can hold my cell phone and wallet without them falling out all the time. Just compare the pocket in your regular pants to t...

Re: Workout for 77 woman

I just wanted to say thanks for all the feedback. I had thought that machine resistance training would be good because the weight can be less than the bodies resistance. And I thought she would feel more secure sitting on a machine. I wasn't really planning on bringing her over to the squat rack any...

Re: Workout for 77 woman

So I got mom to the gym today. I guess you can't really tell what someone can do till they are there. I think she is in worse shape than I thought. I put her on a stationary bike to warm up for five minutes. That was fine. I thought I would give her a simplified full body routine. 1. Bench press 2. ...

Workout for 77 woman

Can anyone suggest a suitable workout for my mom? She is 77. But she plays tennis twice a week. Don't be overly impressed. It not like she is playing like the Williams sisters. The point is that she is reasonably healthy. But I think a little more exercise would be good for her. I would like to add ...

Thanks for all the replies. I learned a lot. Never really thought about letting my legs spread out, or the importance of stronger core muscles. There does seem to be some disagreement about whether the knees should extend past the toes. I have read different things. While I wait to figure tha out I ...

Getting ready for squats

I know a lot of people here like squats. But I don't think I am quite ready. I would like to know if people think my prep work and guideline of when to add them is correct. In addition to my regular gym visits, I do a brief routine every morning. This consists of ab work, pushups, stretching, and 1 ...

I have noticed the problem with the correct body weight charts. A few weeks ago I was watching the Superman movie. Lois Lane asked his proportions. He said 6'4 about 225 lbs. She seemed pretty interested, even excited. But according to the bmi chart Superman is a fat ass. So I know enough not to tak...

http://www.tmuscle.com/readArticle.do?id=1823834 Don't worry a lot about ratios. I am not worried. But as an adult beginner trying to lose weight and get in shape I have observed some things at the gym. 1. Most men over train their arms and chest. It is practically all I see most people working on....

muscle strength proportion and ratios

In the testing weight training section there is a chart that describes basic strength standards for five lifts for persons ranging from untrained to elite athlete. I am also aware of "ideal" proportion charts. Which I have seen on the web. Are there any references that describe the proportionate str...
