Sounds pretty good to me. Try it out, evaluate it, and tweak as necessary for your needs. I tried it out today, and it didn't seem as tiring as it should have been. I did Bench Press followed the Javorek Barbell Complex #1. I used 40 lbs for 6 reps of each in 2 back-to-back complexes. Should I incr...

Circuits and complexes work great at fat loss, but Velcropop just made a good point. Why not take 1-2 lifts per session, work them fairly hard for strength/strength maint, say warm up to 2-3 worksets of 5-6 reps or so, then follow it up with a much morre reduced circuit/complex? This sounds really ...

I have a meal about 2 hours before a workout and a shake afterwards, no shake beforehand. I drink water during the workout itself.

This brings up an interesting topic. How many protein shakes do you drink a day? I've heard some people drink tons, with multiple scoops per shake.

Personally, I only have 1 on off days and 2 on workout days (single scoop for all)...

Bocce ball is so much better than lawn bowling.

Or, at least, I think so. Throwing > rolling.

Well, besides the obvious time frame difference (insanity takes 60 days, p90x is 90), they look, and, I assume, work, similar to each other. Insanity seems to be more cardio-intensive.

Mate, I got tired just looking at your M/W/F routine! Are you sure your going to be able to accomplish all of those exercises, 2-3x in around 40 mins ? Even if time constraints weren't a limiting factor, do you really need to do all those lifts? If you're interested in a full-body workout then I wo...

I want to hit 199 pounds. Yes, exactly 199. That's a loss of 51 pounds. However, I want to do it while building lean muscle mass and increasing my strength.

Fat-Loss Circuit Routine - Need Criticism

Hey guys, I weigh 250 lbs (down from 295) and am looking for a way to burn fat quickly while building lean muscle. I thus created the following workout with a lot of help from other people on the forum (especially stuward and Jungledoc) revolving around the key ideas discussed in this article: http:...

You can play with the order and exercise selection. Get in 1 each of the following: Quad dominant leg, posterior dominant leg, horizontal and vertical press and pull, core stability, core anti-rotation and arms if desired. Alternate standing and floor exercises. Try to get each circuit complete in ...

For fat loss, the best setup would be to do weights first, then cardio. But, quite frankly, it sounds like your doing the wrong kind, i.e. longer drawn out affairs to burn calories. Better would be intervals. See http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/the_hiera...

What is your diet like? Typical week? Generally speaking: low calorie (2400-2800), high protein, low carb, low sugar, high fiber. Lots of fish, green vegetables, and lean meats. Fish oil and multivitamin pills, 1 each per day. I don't have specific meal plans set out, I just try to follow those gui...

Sorry, I wasn't very specific, was I? I weigh 250 lbs, and am 6 ft 2 in. I used to weigh 295 lbs, so I'm down 45 lbs so far, but my main goal is to reach my target weight (about 200 lbs) as quickly as possible. Building muscle and getting a built body are, of course, ultimate goals of mine, and I'd ...

Quick Workout Timing Question

Hey everyone, I just have a small question I wanted to ask. I'm doing a mix of about 30 minutes of cardio (running usually, sometimes biking) and another 30 minutes of weight lighting during my workouts, but my question is in which order should I do them? Should I start with cardio and end with weig...
